Makedo Cardboard Tools

Inspired by the creativity and playfulness of his own kids, in 2008, PJ set off on a design adventure. With a background in toy design, PJ was determined to create something that wouldn’t end up in landfill, and that would take childrens’ imaginations and natural inclination to play to the next level. 

Seeing the big fun his own kids would have with a simple cardboard box sparked memories of his own childhood box play, and highlighted the potential and value of this humble, everyday material. The ‘aha’ moment that PJ had been looking for, had arrived. 

These handy tools are meant for 5+ year olds and help them to unlock endless creativity by using cardboard to make just about anything they can imagine! Choose between two sets:

Little Wares Thoughts: In our search for toys that little ones will play with for years and years and never tire of, we discovered Makedo. Even though they’re intended for 5+ years, even younger kids can begin to use and play with these tools under the supervision of a grown-up. These are made of plastic, but we feel that the usefulness and longevity of these tools are a worthwhile purchase.
